GOODS ON FOOTPATH

A plea of guilty was entered when a summons charge was preferred against Norman Kelleway, before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, for exposing goods for sale on the footpath. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said a number of goods, including pillows and mattresses, was displayed outside defendant's shop in Newmarket. It was contended for the defence that other business people in Newmarket had displayed goods on the pavement. The magistrate imposed a line of 10s.
