NEW ZIE ALAND TOURISTS DEFEAT IN QUEENSLAND (Received June 1. 0.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, June 1 Th e New Zealand Association football team to-day played Ipswich. The local men won the match by 5 goals to 4. Tho teams were:—New Zealand:' Zuill, Stone, Gerrard, Stenhouse, Christie, Crabb, Barton, Blackie, Graham, Kershaw and Kay. Ipswich: Williams, Nunn, Shanks, Newman, Mascn, Greenhill, Dawes, Rossow, Kite] ling, Worrall and Donaldson. The New Zealanders should have won on style. In the later stages erratic shooting was a fault, but they were striking better form. Graham opened tho score early, but tho Ipswich kick and rush tactics gave them a lead of 3—2 at half time. New Zealand rallied in the late stages of the game and kicked two goals! in quick succession. Tho Ipswich goal-keeper with a great save prevented an equalising score. A draw would have been a better indication of the play. Christie was consistent, Kershaw was good and Zuill gave a brilliant exhibition. The scorers were: —New Zealand: Graham (two), Kershaw and Kay (one each). Ipswich: Worrall (two), Dawes (two), and Rossow (one).
