COOK ISLANDS TO WAIHI
ORPHAN BOYS' LONG TRIP " LABELLED" ON RAILWAY Two little orphan children, Alastair*' Campbell, aged seven, and his brother, William, aged three, have completed a long journey byjiihemselves from Atui, :n the Cook Islands Group, to Waihi. 'they travelled by schooner, liner, train and car to their destination, where theii grandmother lives. The voyage wai undertaken after the deaths of theij parents. A Cook Island trading schooner picked up the children at the small island of Atui, and brought them to Rarotonga, where they were obliged :o spend some time beforti the arrival >f the Makura. They travelled in the oare of a stewardess on the steamer, which reached Wellington this week. I'here they were met by a friend, and on the train journey to Frankton, addressed labels were attached to ,theii clothing.
At Frankton, Mr. T. Campbell, an uncle, met his small nephews and drove them to their final destination 'at Waihi.
