SQUALL IN HARBOUR

STEAMER DRAGS ANCHOR TUG RENDERS ASSISTANCE Struck by a heavy south-west squall shortly after mid-day yesterday, the Bank Line motor-ship Speybank, which was anchored in the harbour, drifted and had to be assisted back to the anchorage by the Harbour Board's tug Te Awhina. The Speybank went to the anchorage in mid-stream at seven o'clock yesterday morning to await orders. The squall, which was of short duration, caused the vessel to drift toward Devonport. She was held in check by the Te Awhina until the anchor could be raised. Afterward the vessel steamed back to her former position and both anchors were dropped.
