LAWN TENNIS

ROYAL OAK CLUB The report presented at the annual meefmg of the Royal Oak Lawn Tennis Club stated that the membership for the past season was as follows:—Life members. 4: senior members, ladies. 81: men, 65; iunior members, ladies, 3: men. 12; honorary members, 25. Elections for the year numbered 44. It was pleasing to note that the total active membership was only seven short of last eeaßon. Teams were entered in the A, B, C and D grade inter-club competitions. The D team reached the final of its section. The Jordan Cup was again won. by the club. The balance-sheet showed the cash balance in hand of £BB 7s 7d to be slightly larger than that last year. ' The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. G. Massey; vice-presidents, Messrs. G. L. Taylor, F. J. Ohlson, J. T. Harrison, G. Fleming; hon. secretary, Mr. R. K. Wilie; hon. treasurer. Mr. K Davenport: hou. auditor, Mr. A. E. Bockett: general committee, Mesdames Bayly. Bilkey, Missee Coates. C. Lloyd, Mellsop, Parr, Messrs. Bockett, Johnston, La Roche, Noakes, Olsen. and Warren.

Miss B. E. Carnachan. who has been as--Bociat«d with the club during the past 27 i years, was elected &• life member.
