TRESPASS ON CROWN LAND

[by TKI.KGHAFIt —OWN COUMiSFONDKNT] THAMES, Thursday Tlio commissioner of Crown lands, represented by Mr. C. J. Garland, proceeded in the Magistrate's Court today against H. .T. Harris (Mr. B. Clendou), for trespass on Crown land. A plea of guilty was entered. 31 r. Garland said that Harris had employed a Maori to cut posts oil' his bush country, hut apparently was not particular where the posts were cut. The ranger discovered £.~>o worth of posts cut ready to be taken away, and Harris had now agreed to purchase them from the Crown. Defendant was convicted and ordered to pay costs.
