DECISIONS AT CONFERENCE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION 1 ASIIBURTON, Thursday The Mid-Canterbury conference of tho Farmers' Union commended the Government on its stand on the question of the Australian embargo on potatoes. The conference expressed tho opinion that importations of wheat and Hour should cease. Tho conference gave complete endorsement of the scheme of Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P., for the readjustment of tariffs. Mr. A. P. Bruce was elected president. An optimistic tone regarding future prospects was noticeable throughout the conference.
