THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE FAIRLY ACTIVE MARKET Fairly substantial business was done on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, although only nominal inquiry was shown for some of the leading industrials. Support for State loans \yas unchanged with the exception of a slight advance in oilers for two of the 3i per cent- issues. The 4 per cent stocks were inclined to cheapen on sale. The 1910 issue was taken unchanged at £IOO 7s 6d. This price, unchanged, was also paid for the 1946 issue, which later had sale at £IOO ss. In sales at £IOO 5s the 1949 and 1955 issues registered a fall of 2s 6d. A marked appreciation on sale of English, Scottish and Australians was a feature of the banks group. Offers for these shares rose by 2s 6d to £4 17s fid and a parcel was taken at sellers' unchanged quotation of £5, a gain in three weeks of 14s (id.
