Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P., left f or 1 Wellington last evening. Mr. E. H. Northcroft returned from Wellington on Saturday morning. Sir George Fowlds returned on Saturday morning from Palmerston North. Mr. A. S. Richards, M.P., left last evening by the limited express for Wanganui. and garanaki. Mr. Harvey Turner, president of the Auckla.nd Chamber of Commerce, left by the limited express last evening on a business visit to Wellington.

Sir Michael Myers, the Chief Justice, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning to preside over sittings of the Supreme Court in Auckland. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. A. M. Seaman returned to Auckland on Saturday morning f rom Wellini?ton, where he attended a meeting of "the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Mr. A. Berry, scoutmaster of the St. Heliers Bay troop, who has been transferred to New Plymouth, left by the limited express last evening. He was fare welled at the station by members of his troop. Mr. K. D. Cosgrove, who, for the past five and a-half years, has been on the clerical staff of the Supreme Court, Wellington, has been promoted to a position in the Magistrate's Court in Auckland, and will take up his duties this week. Sir James Parr, Leader of the LeoV lative Council, left by the limited express last evening for Palmerston North, where he will address the Rotary Club to-day. He will later visit Well, ington, and will probably return to Auckland on Wednesday.

Dr. I. A. Henninc has resigned his position as lecturer in modern languages under Professor E. J. Boyd. Wilson at Victoria College, Wellington, and warden of Weir House, to tako up a position in Australia. Dr. I. L. G. Sutherland has been appointed warden of House. Sir Apirana Ngata, Minister of Native Affaits, who has been inspecting native land settlement schemes in North Auckland, returned to Auckland on Saturday and will leave for Rotorua bv train this morning. The Minister will take part in the presentation of tho Arowhenua Trophy for Maori farmers by the Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe* ab Rotorua on Wednesday, and will leave the same evening on his return to Wellington. He is at the Central Hotel.
