DULL AND RAINY WEATHER mild temperatures The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A shallow cyclonic depression covers the Tasman Sea and is advancing on to New Zealand. Pressure is still rather high to eastward. Indications are for northerly "winds, moderate but freshening, boaa smooth to moderate, but rising south of Capo Egmont and East Cape Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds; seas moderate to rather rough and increasing. Weather dull generally, with ,mist or fog at many places. Itain probable, with many heavy falls. Temperatures mild. YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland.—There was a continuation of overcast weather yesterday, light rain being experienced occasionally during tlio day and prolonged showers in the evening, when the north-east wind increased to a fresh breezo. The barometer fell slightly in the morning, but was steady after mid-day. Barometer, midnight, falling ... 30.30 in. Midnight, Sunday .. . 30.151n. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum. 60deg.; minimum. 58deg. Wellington.—The weather yesterday was again beautifully fine. A light northerly breezo was blowing. Christchurch.—The weather was fine yesterday, but the sky was overcast. A keen north-easterly breeze was blowing in the afternoon and misty rain fell toward evening. The barometer registered 29.98 m. at 5 p.m. Dunedin.—Changeable weather prevailed yesterday and a light easterly wind was blowing. Conditions were cold, tho maximum temperature being 50 degrees.
