NEW TOUCHLINE RULE PALMER MEMORIAL CUP The new touchline rulo was discussed at a meeting of the Auckland Kitgby Heferees' Association last evening. The president, Sir. J. G. C. Wales, presided over an attendance of 50 members. It was pointed out that when the ball is in a player's possession it is not deemed to be in touch when it is swung out over the touch-line or if the player in possession swings an arm or leg l over the touchline but does not touch it or the ground beyond. The conditions for the awarding of the Bert Palmer Memorial Challenge Cup were brought under the notice of the association. It was agreed to give all possiblo help in the awarding of the necessary points. Two decisions of the New Zealand Referees' Association were received, bringing out several interesting points. Mr. F. Jenlts was elected a member subject to his passing the usual examination. OTAMATEA COMPETITIONS Following are the results of matches played under the auspices of the Otamatea Kugby Union on Saturday:— Seniors. —Waipu, 12, Marolicmo, 3; K.aiwaka, 6, Paparoa, 3; Maungaturoto, a bye.
