Various complaints having recently appeared in the newspapers in Sydney against the Sydney Hospital and its officers, a committee was appointed to inquire into the matter. The committee in their report state as their opinion that " the complaints which have beea made by the public against the officers of the institution may have been occasioned, to some extent, by want of courtesy of self-control on either but that on the whole greater importance has been attached to these differences than their gravity warranted." Tho last consignment of boots lor the Free Public Library are now being •put on the shelves. It is intended to close the library on Monday and Tuesday next, to permit the whole of the books on the shelves being reclassified and dusted.
