IMPENDING LOAN INFLUENCE (Received May 22. 7.15 p.m.) SYDNEY. May 22 Stock Exchange trading at Sydney fell to a minimum to-day, due to the influence of the impending Commonwealth loan. Values, however, were generally steady. This morning's sales included: —Commonwealth 4 per cent bonds, 1961, £lO3 ss; Australian Gas, £7 3s; Associated News, 8s 6d; ditto, preference, 18s Dunlop-Perdriau, 17s Gd; Winchcombe-Carson, 25s Gd.
This afternoon's sales includod: — Colonial Sugar, £57 12s 6d; BurnsPhilp, 50s; Associated News, 8s 3d; ditto, pref, IPs 7kl; Howard Smith, 8s lOd; David Jones, 255; DunlopPcrdriau, 17s 7sd; Gordon and Gotch, 83s; Australian Gas, A shares, £7 3s; Winchcomhc-Carson, 25s 6d; WilooxMofflin, Gs 4d; South Broken Hill, 53s 7Jd.
