MINERS' MEDICAL CLUB
[from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Saturday
Tho Hikurnngi Minors' Medical Club held a general meeting to receive a report of a committee appointed some time ago to consider the advisability of amalgamation with the district club. The committee's report stated that if amalgamation were effected the on j reduction of costs would be a possible saving in the secretaries series of from £3O to £4O, together with a bank fee of £1 and an audit fee of £2. One ot the main points against amalgamation was the effect it would have on the agreement with tho Whangam f v pital Board, which demand* that 100 per cent, of the members shall be included in such agreement, which in itself would almost absorb any s.uiig to be made. . . . The committee was of opinion that amalgamation was not in tho best interests of the members of either club and that, while little or no saung could bo effected, the present efficiency would be considerably lessened..
