Miss Lyttclton, who writes under the pen name of G. B. Lancaster, intends leaving England in August on a visit to New Zealand.
Mrs. F. Downio and her daughter Phyllis, who liavo been staying with Mrs. Riley at Sandringham, have returned to Matamata.
Miss Maisie Law, of the Auckland staff of the Y.W.C.A., who has been visiting her home in Tasmania, arrived in Wellington this week by the Maunganui.

Dr. Gladys Rowley, who has been visiting China, Japan, the Malay States, Siarn and French Indo-Cliina, has reached Sydney oh her return journey and will arrive in Auckland on Tuesday next by the Wanganella.

The twentieth annual meeting of the Papatoetoe Croquet Club was held in the pavilion recently. Mrs. W. Cutforth presided. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. W. Cutforth; vice-presidents, Mrs. K. Thompson, Mrs. P. Hill; secretary, Miss F. I. Hamilton; treasurer, Mrq, S. MoCullough; match committee, Mrs. G. Runciman, Mrs. Parker, Mrs. P. Hill; general committee, Mrs. Daisley, Mrs. Knight, Mrs. Wilson.
The monthly meeting of the Remuera Women's Christian Temperance Union took the form of a drawing room gathering, held on Tuesday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. Robinson, Clonbern Road. Mrs. Hugh Kasper presided. A report of the recent Dominion convention was given and the plans of work. for jubilee year outlined by the president. Two violin duets were rendered by Master and Miss Robinson, and vocal duets by Sister Grace and Mrs. Hood. Miss Cook played the accompaniments. It was decided to help at the Y.W.C.A. street collection.
