THEFT FROM HOTEL
WHISKY AND BEER STOLEN MAORI ADMITS OFFENCE [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TAUPO, Wednesday In the' Magistrate's Court at Taupo to-day, before Messrs. R. 11. Ward and R. T. Hutcliins, J.P.'s, a Maori, Hohepa Paurini, aged 28, of Tokaanu, was charged with breaking and entering the Tokaanu Hotel on May 13 and stealing from tho bar four bottles of whisky and three bottles of beer, valued at £3 14s. It was stated that entry to the hotel was gained by forcing a lock from the back door. Constable Butler arrested Paurini the same night.
Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court at Hamilton for sentence.
