COMPANY MANAGER ALLEGATION OF THEFT REMANDED ON BAIL A middle-aged man, described as a companye manager, surrendered to the police early yesterday afternoon, and later appeared before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court, on a charge of stealing £l9 9s, the property of a city firm. Detective-Sergeant McHugli, in obtaining«a' week's remand, asked that if bail were granted it should be substantial, as other charges were pending. Accused was allowed bail of £l5O and was ordered to report to tho police as required. At the request of counsel, Mr. Haigh, the publication of name was suppressed in the meanwhile.
