SEQUEL TO COLLISION

DAMAGES CLAIM UPHELD [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday A decision in favour of plaintiffs was given by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day in the case in which Smith and Smith, Limited, Auckland (Mr. W. J. King), sought to recover £32 3s damages from W. J. Woods, farmer, Pio Pio (Mr. A. L. Tompkins). The claim aroso out of a collision between two motor vehicles near To Awamutu on August 18, and represented the cost of ,repairing the damage done to plaintiff's car. Defendant alleged that the accident was caused by the steering gear of his vehicle becoming defective at the time of the accident. The magistrate held that there was no conclusive proof that defendant's evidenco was correct on this point. Judgment was given for plaintiffs for £32 3s, with costs £9 4s.
