PROCEDURE FOR LICENCES [from our OWN correspondent] TAURANQA, Tuesday It was reported to the last , meeting of the Tauranga County Council that meetings had been held at Katikati, Tauranga and Te Puke in order to acquaint owners of heavy motor vehicles with the requirements under the transport licensing regulations. The following resolution was passed at the Katikati meeting and confirmed at the other meetings:—That the appropriate local authority be empowered to issue, temporary licences, failing which this authority be given to the local Public Works Department, as tho delay of several days before the licences could bo obtained would mean tho loss of business to carriers contracting for furniture removal.
