NURSES' EXAMINATIONS
AUCKLAND SUCCESSES HIGH STANDARD OF WORK The report of the examiners for tho May examination of nurses at the Auckland Hospital was presented at tho meeting of tho Auckland Hospital Board yesterday. In the examinations for third-year nurses, Nurse A. Gilfillan was placed first and also gained first place in practical work. Nurse J. Whiteliouse was second. Tho examiners reported that the standard of tho third-year work revealed a creditable standard. All tho candidates obtained over 60 per cent of tho marks and five obtained over SO per cent. Considerable credit was reflected on the training provided) at tho hospital. First-year candidates revealed work of a good standard but tho work of the second-year nurses was not as good as usual. Tho chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, said the report showed that the nursing staff at the hospital was competent and efficient. On his motion it was decided to award tho gold medal to Nurse Gilfillan and the second prize to Nurse Whiteliouse.
