PAKURANGA HUNT
MEET AT PAPATOETOE SEVERAL GOOD RUNS The Pakuranga Hunt held a very enjoyable meet on Saturday at Ranginui. Papatoetoe. Conditions generally were good and over splendid open hunting country several fine runs were secured, the best lasting for over fin hour before a kill was made. The riders assembled at Mr. F. A. Price's homestead and drew over to the back of the property, where a hare was put up. It gave a good run across Mr. W. Davis' land and back to Mr. Price's, where it was lost on the beach. The hunt then moved over toward Mr. Wills McLaughlin's property, where a fine hare was started. It took the hunt across the property and into a tea-tree thicket,.,later drawing across the homestead plantations and down the avenue into scoria country, where the scent became cold and the hare had to bo abandl oned. The hunt returned to Mr. G, McCaw's property and here several hares were put up. (Eventually one got away and led the hunt on the best run of the day. It went across the properties of Mr. Coney, Mr. F. Bell. Mr. J. Slater and Mr. George Hastie, eventually taking a big circle and returning to the Ranginui estate, where it was killed behind the homestead. As this run lasted over an hour and provided some excellent jumping the bunt then broke up for the day. _ Among those staking part were>_ the following:—The master, Mr. H. Wilson, on Mareina; Mr. S. Haines, on Dione: Mr. G. Fulton, on Excuse Me; Mr. C. Allen, on Amman: Mr. Alex. Walker, on Bluestone; Mr. P. Moore, on Beaufort; Mr. J. Moodie, on General; Mr. L. Bellingham, oh Joyride: Mr. G. Bellingham, on Tomboy; Mr. K. Bellingham, on Tamaki Boy; Mr. W. Price, on Cheerio: Mr. R. Townsend, on Monoplane: Mr. J. Townsend, on Illuminator; Mr. Wells, on Cross Stitch; Mr. E. J. Rae, on Absent: Master Allen Austin, on Bobby; Mr. R. Taylor and Mr. Mc•.'instry. ' The lady riders included Mrs. W.
