PLUNKET SOCIETY
The eleventh annual meeting of the Ngaruawahia Plunket Society was held recently. A cordial welcome was extended by the president, Mrs. D. Welch, to the guests and representatives of sister organisations. Huntly was represented by Mrs. Gow and Miss Crimmins and Taupiri by Mesdames Sowman and Powell. The report showed a satisfactory condition of affairs in spite of the hard times. Nurse N. Harding stated that 3408 adults and 2989 babies had received advice or attention. The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. D. Welch; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Sampson and Hall; secretary, Mrs. Feeney; treasurer, Mrs. Joy; committee, Mesdames Marriott, Burke, McGruer, Cameron, Isdale; auditor, Mr. W. G. Adams; advisory board, Dr. Martin, Messrs. H. J. Sampson, W. G. Adams, A. Warburton and S.. Read. The president referred to the solendid work of the lion, treasurer, Mrs. J. jov, and secretary, Mrs. Selling. The gathering was subsequently entertained and afternoon tea served.
