Hayward at a meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association. Ho gave details of two riders who had been duly licensed, but who had only one leg each. In future, applicants will be called upon to answer a question asking whether they suffer from any physical disability. NEW SIRE FOR CANTERBURY PURCHASE IN IRELAND [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday Another well-bred English sire will be available in Canterbury next breeding season. This is the 12-year old Magnus, who lias been secured for the Stonyhurst Stud by Sir Charles Clifford from his cousin, Captain Charles Moore, of Mooresfort Stud, a well-known Irish stud in Tipperary. Magnus is by'the unbeaten grey horse, The Tetrarch (siro of Chief Ruler and Tea Tray), from Princess Dorrie, by Your Majesty from Doris. He w-as bred by Mr. J. B. Joel, and represents some of the most, successful blood in his stud. Princess Dorrie won the Ore Thousand Guineas and Oaks, and is a half-sister to Sunstar, winner of the Two Thousand Guineas and Derby, while the Persimmon horse, Your Majesty, sire of Princess Dorrie, is a St. Leger winner. Magnus did a little racing and won a mile event at Newmarket as a three-year-old.''He has had several seasons at Captain Moore's stud in Ireland, where he left some promising stock. He iB expected to arrive here about September, and should be a valuable addition to the breeding stock of the Dominion.
