EXPORT OF PEACHES
OTAGO EXPERIMENT [BY TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] DUNEDIN. Friday An experiment of interest to fruitgrowers and of possible value te New Zealand is being made from the Teviot district. This week Mr. W. J. - ianuel, of Coal Creek Flat, despatched for England the first consignment of peaches from Roxburgh. Mr. Manuel believes that the consignment will arrive in good condition, as he has made successful trials of keeping fruit over periods of greater length than the time occupied by the voyage to England. If the consignment arrives in first-class condition there is no reason why large quantities of peaches should not be exported from Otago as well as from the fruit-growingr districts of the Dominion.
