BAKED BANANAS WITH APPLE

Six bananas, a lemon, six ounces of castor sugar, one pound of cooking apples, the white of an egg. Peol the bananas, and put them in a fireproof dish, sift one onnco of sugar over and the fitrained juice of half a lemon. Cover and bake in a slow oven until the bananas arc quite soft. Leave until cold. Peel, sore and chop tho apples, put them in a stewpan with a wineglassful of water and cook to a pulp over gentle heat. Strain off any juice and leave the applo until cold. Then mix with them the remainder of the castor sugar and the white of egg and beat until white and snowy. Tile this on the bananas and serve.
