CROQUET CLUB
The Carlton Croquet Club was en fete on Wednesday in honour of Mrs. Perry (an ex-secretary of the club and one of the oldest members), Miss Keatly, who was successful in carrying off the Auckland ladies' championship at the tournament held in Auckland in March, Mesdames Laurie and Baker, who were the runners-up in tho championship doubles, and tho A inter-club, team, which was successful in winning the shield played for during the season. The weather was ideal and, tho lawns and pavilion looked very gay and festive. During the afternoon Mrs. Hamilton, president of the club, presented Mrs. Perry with a rug and with a gift for Mr. Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Perry are leaving in May for a trip to Britain
The prize-winners for tho afternoon were:—A, Miss Keatly, 1; Mrs Laurie, 2. B, Mrs. Wilson, 1; Mrs. Tutt, 2.
