FROM OKARITO ; '"f The Oknrito Five Mile Beach Dredging Company, Limited, South Westland, reports a return of 141 ounces for 118 hours' dredging. h AUSTRALIAN PRICE OF GOL.O V The price fixed by the Commonwealth • Bank for gold, including \jeuellery, lodged at the Melbourne Mint, for tho week elided March 24 was at the rata of approximately £6 16s Id a standard ounce (22 carats), equal to a premium of 74.78 per cent. Payment is made according to the assay value of the gold. The price was Is higher on the week. The price an ounce fine was £7 8s 6d, a rise of Is Id on the week. The Commonwealth Bank's, price for sovereigns at head office, Sydney, has been raised 6d to 345. On the footwall dropper we have driven out the gas that was encountered. Dawn of Hope (Thames).- —Since last reporting, we have completed tht» leading stope seaward for 30ft. When, the timbering of this block is completed we will be in a position to start on the leader, which looks inoso promising.
