A BRIDGE EVENING

EX-SERVICE WOMEN HELP FOR THOSE IN NEED The bridge evening held annually by the Auckland Ex-Servico Women's Association in aid of the association's bencvor lent fund, through which assistance is - given to th e wives and families of ex--3 service men in need, took place in the Officers' Club rooms on Tuesday. About 50 ' tables were occupied by guests, a few of ; whom played mah jong, although the f majority favoured bridge. In the absence, ' through illness, of the president, Mrs. H. ! R. 11. Chalmers, the vice-president, Mrs. : Robin Deck, acted as hostess and received i the guests, wearing a frock of white and cherry floral ninon. The members of the committee present ■ were:—Mrs. R. T. Michaels, Mrs. F. C. [ Webster, Miss E. M. Ernest, Miss G. V. i Luxford, Miss J. N. T'eape, Mrs. A. C, Jacob, Mrs. Stewart Masson, Mrs. W. C. McComb, Mrs. E. M. Gould, Mrs. R.
