The principal event is tho Waimato Cup, three acceptors for which have been rehandicapped. Assemble has gono up from 8.2 to 8.5, Martian Chief from 7.11 to 8.3, and Princess Argosy from 7.9 to 8.1. Our Canterbury correspondent states that Fleeting Glunco will not start. Rational 11. is to contest tho Stewards' Handicap' in preference to tho High-weight Handicap, and Juniper will also start in tho Stewards' Handicap instead of the Waimato Cup. Repudiation, whoso name appoared anions tho acceptors for the Trial Plate, is not eligible to competo owing to her success at Oamaru. Wednesday Berate is making slow but satisfactory progress and her owner and trainer now has hopes that, she will be able to race again after a lengthy spell. Mr. L. W. Storry has three young horses at present in active commission. These comprise Lady Whoopee, a two-year-old sister to Lady Zephyr, Sundancer, a two-year-old filly by Weathervane from Stardancer, and Jeremy, a three-year-old gelding by Jericho from trie Pnper Money marc Script. Jeremy has done very little galloping, but is an attractive mover and may turn out useful. Jaloux has been taken up again by C. Davey to be got ready for the Easter meeting at Riccarton. Goldstead is also back in commission. Morepork and Grouse were sent to Stonvhurst last week-end to be used as hacks. The former promised well when he won his first race at Riccarton in the spring, but has disappointed on several occasiona since.
