PURCHASING POWER
BUTTER TRADE ASPECT DOMINIONS URGE EXPANSION LONDON. March 22 The Daily Herald states that during the discussions on the butter situation, which wero resumed to-day, the representatives of the Dominions protested strongly against the British Government's proposed restriction of their exports instead of trying to increase Britain's purchasing power. The Dominions' representatives argued definitely that if there was expansion of the spending power of the working classes the slump in prices would be checked. They asked point-blank if the Government intended at an early date to initiate large-scale work schemes.
