JUNIOR MANAGEMENT BOARD
OFFICERS FOR THE SEASON
All junior Rugby football clubs were represented at the annual meeting of the junior management board last evening. Mr. A. Tilly presided. The chairman's report on the previous year's operations was adopted.
The following were elected:—Messrs. A. J. Tilly, R. Nelson, S Conyngham, J. Carr, J, Hoare, C. H. Worsfold, N. Robertson, R, E. Galbraith, E. C. Addison, A. Craig. E. Matthews and C. J. "Williams. It wan decided to revise weights of intermediate players to lOst. 2lb. at time of weighing, but at 310 time were players to exceed lOst. 81b.; fourth grade, Ost. 7lb. at time of weighing, but not to exceed Ost. 131b.
Mr. H. Frost, chairman of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, addressed the meeting and was thanked for his interest in junior football. ■\t a meeting of the board after the annual meeting Mr. A. J. Tilly was reappointed chairman. ■ It wan decided to recommend to the Auckland union that no player be regraded after July 1, except to clubs nominated by tin management committee or the junior management board. JUNIOR BOYS' BOARD Ten clubs were represented at the annual meeting of delegates to the junior boys Rugby management committee. Mr. A. iiullians presided. . . . , The following committee was elected.— Messrs. Bullians, Bellingharn, Hamlin, Marten, Packman, Cowley, McDell and JjetnIt S \vii3 decided to make application to the Auckland Rugby Union for the same Pri vl " lege of representation on the union as that enjoyed by the junior management board. Mr. A Bullians was re-elected chairman and Mr. W. Packman honorary secretary. A vote of thanks was passed to the manageincnt committee of the Auckland union for its assistance during tho past season. Mr. H. Frost, chairman of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, gavo an interesting' talk 011 the conditions attached to the Palmer Memorial Cup presented by Mr. Marsden Caughey. He expressed a hope that the boys would live up to the high standard attained by the one whose memory they all cherished. GRAFTON CLUB There was a large and encouraging attendance at the 41st annual meeting of th« Grafton Rugby Football Club held in th« training shed, Snficld Street, Mount Eden. Mr. H. Frost, chairman of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, gave an interesting talk on club sportsmanship. Prior to the opening of the meeting members stood in silence as a token of respect to the late B. Palmer. The balance-sheet showed the club finances to be in an exceedingly healthy rendition. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. George Sanders; president. Mr. N. R. Jones; vice-presidents, same as previous year; T. O. McConnell; treasurer, Mr. W. T. Allen; auditor. Mr. A. L. Bayliss; committee. Messrs. Jj. Moore, IT. Halls, T. Marshall. J. Nixon. W. Tilby; club captain. Mr. E. Gasparich: deputy club captain, Mr. W. Tilbv; juni«r representative on committee. Mr. v\T. Dell; delegate to junior management board. Mr. C. H. Worsfold: delegates to Auckland Rugby Union, Messrs Baker, Paull and Jones. Many new members were elected andprospeefs for the ensuing season are exceedingly bright. THE WAIPA UNION MORE REPRESENTATIVE HATCHES [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Thursday The annual meeting of the Waipa Kugby Union last evening was well attended and the president, Mr. G. W. Mairs, presided. The report on last year's operations showed that more representative matches than usual had been played in all grades. The financial statement showed a loss on the year's working of about £3B, due chiefly to extra travelling of teams. The general fund is £l7 14s in aredit and the insurance fund £3B. The election of officers resulted Patrons, Messrs. C. G. Downes and L. G. Armstrong ; president, Mr. G. W. Mairs: vicepresidents, Messrs. F. Quin, Roger Kay, Ji. T. North, W; C. Park, J. L. Macky and A. J. Shepherd; secretary, Mr. H. T. Haselden; treasurer, Mr. A. A. Reese; hon. surgeons. Drs. Blundell. Roberton, Hiskeni and Rogers; auditor, Mr. G. O. Jourdain; custodian, Mr. Mairs: delegate to Waikato Rugby Union. Mr. Haselden; management committee, Messrs. A. Emmett (Ohaupo), G. Reynolds (Te Awamutu), A. O. Finch (Rovers), W. Whitton (Ngutunui), T. H. Ramsay (Te Mawhai), G. W. Mairs (Waikeria), R. H. Annibal (Pirongia). A. F. Brewer (High School). D. C. Clarkson (primary schools), W. McCready (Referees* Association) and one to be appointed by Te Kawn Club. One new club was registered, with a senior and junior team. Prospects were considered good for the new season and championship competitions will commence on the first Saturday after Easter. At a subsequent meeting of the management committee, Mr. Mairs was rc-elected chairman.
