NORTH SHORE WATER SUPPLY

Sir, —To one who lias driven through a tunnel in a wheeled vehicle below the river Clyde at Glasgow—and that many years ago—it would seem a simple matter to run a pipe line across the bed o£ the harbour at Auckland for the purpose of tapping the city's surplus supply of water, which I understand is ample; for the North Shore boroughs, and which I believe can be had at very small cost. .Ts there any reason why this scheme could not be put into operation ?
