DISARMAMENT QUESTION

The first meeting of tho ,Debating £lub established by the Junior Chamber of Commerce was held last evening.

Tho debate was on the motion "that a major Power would not suffer either commercially or politically if sho were to disarm completely." The debate was opened for the affirmative side by Mr. A. M. Doull, supported by Mr. R. McK. Jeffrey. Tho loader of the negative side was Mr. W. J. H. Clark, supported by Mr. C. H. Battley, After discussion by members present, the voting resulted in the motion being lost by a very narrow margin.
