SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL
EARLY RETURN TO ENGLAND CANADIAN CONGRATULATIONS DAYTONA, Feb. 28 Sir Malcolm Campbell announced today that he will make no more speed trials here this year. He will leave on Tuesday for New York, en route to Eugland. This decision followed his physician's advice that it would not be advisable to race now because of a sprained arm. Sir Malcolm said that in all probability he would return next year. He said he thought that under favourable conditions he would be able to attain a speed of 300 miles an hour.
Congratulations to Sir Malcolm Campbell on his speed record were received by him from the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. R. B. Bennett, who sent the following telegram:—" May I, on behalf of the Government of Canada, offer you hearty congratulations on your magnificent achievement. All Canadians are proud of your record, and of your initiative and courage." * The Bluebird car is being packed for shipment to England via New York.
