Mrs. G. M. Smart, of Nelson, is at Hotel Cargen. Miss C. Gibson, of Marton, is at the Grand Hotel. Mrs. A. Hicks, of England, is at the Station Hotel. Mrs. J. A. Anderson, of Melbourne, is at Hotel Cargen. Mrs. J. S. Woolley, of Wanganui, is at the Central Hotel. Mrs. G. Bagley, of Auckland, has taken up her residence in Hamilton. The Misses C. and E. Bond, of New South Wales, are at the Grand Hotel. Miss Vieve Williams, of Bracken Avenue, Epsom, is visiting her brother at Cambridge. Mrs. R. Tudehope, of Whangarei, and Mrs. M. McGregor, of Wellington, are at the Station Hotel. Mrs. W. E. Harris, who has been the guest of Mrs. C. F. Sherley, of Milford, returned to Christchurch yesterday. Mrs. Edwin Clay, of Lismore, New South Wales, who has been the guest of Mrs. K. Trembath, of Hamilton, is now in Auckland. Mrs. H. McLean, of Wellington, Mrs. M. K. Chandler, of Rotorua, and Miss Anne Boyce, of Cambridge, are at Hotel Mon Desir, Takapuna. Mr. and Mrs. Berridge Spencer, of Stanley Point, have returned to Auckland after a fortnight's cruise in the launch Tasman in the liauraki Gulf. Mrs. Alice Sullivan and Miss F. Sullivan, of Wagga, New South Wales, arrived by the Monowai this week and are at Mon Desir, Takapuna. Later they will proceed to Rotorua. The Rev. and Mrs. T. H. R. Oakes, of England, who have been occupying the house of their daughter, the Countess of Orford, at Mangere, left on Saturday by the Rangitiki for Wellington. They will return to Auckland on March 1 and will leave immediately for Ta-jpo for about a week. Miss Alison Reid, daughter of the curator of the Hobart Beaumaris Zoo, is famous in Hobart as a rearer of wild animals. In addition to rearing for the zoo three lions and a cheetah, she is now looking after baby beasts until they are ready to be housed in the Beaumaris Zoo. While recently abroad Miss Reid visited some of the world-famous zoos and gained much valuable knowledge regarding the animal kingdom. The wedding took place on January 4 at St. John's, London, of Edwin William, only son of Mr. E. W. Lovegrove and the late Mrs. Lovegrove, of St. David's, Campden, Gloucestershire, to Helen, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Mavrogordato, of 8 Ladbroke Gardens, wrote our London correspondent on January 17. Mrs. Mavrogordato (nee Miss Elsie Napiersom, formerly of Dunedin) is well-known for her work as an artist.
