- SHAAF'S SERIOUS CONDITION A SUCCESSFUL OPERATION NEW YORK, Feb. 13 Surgeons performed what is described as a successful operation on Ernie Schaaf yesterday to remove a blood clot from the ba?e of his brain. The operation occupied ''more than three hoars. Though it was successful, Shaaf's condition will be critical for at least 24 hours. Schaaf was knocked out in a boxing bout with Primo Camera on Friday.
