EIGHT-OAR CHAMPIONSHIP CREWS FOR TO-DAY'S CONTEST There will be a great deal of interest alone the Tomaki Drive rowing course this afternoon, when tlie heats of the provincial eight-oar championship and a race for the Somerville C'htillengo Shield will he contested. The draw for the eight-oar title, which carries with it the Dr. Stuart Reid C'up, originally was: Auckland v. Waiternata: Hamilton v. St.. George's. However, to facilitate Waitemata's challenge to Hamilton for the Somerville Shield, arrangements were set in train to row off Waitemata and Hamilton as a heat, Rnd make it serve the dual purpose. Advice was received from the Hamilton Rowing Club yesterday morning that it was willing to row in this manner. Auckland will now row St. George's. The crews will be:— Waitemata.—R. B. Smith, T. Porter, in charge of the eight-onr rare between old boys of Auckland Grammar School and King's College at the Auckland Provincial regatta next Saturday have announced a list, of candidates eligible to row.
