GORGEOUS JEWELS
Fcom the concrete and case-hardened steel vaults beneath Bofcd Street and Albermarle Street, workmen began taking £2,000,000 worth of, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, pearls and other precious stones which were to foim part of the most valuable and magnificent jewel exhibition ever held. Each stone is worth the traditional " king's ransom," but the pride of the whole collection is the world's finest emerald-cut blue diamond, weighing 24 carats and valued at more than £30,000. An exhibition of jewellery, worth £100,030, opened recontly at Londonderry House. Mademoiselle Cnanel, the Paris dressmaker, organised the exhibition. The proceeds were given to the Personal Service League, of'which the Queen is the patron. ' . . • •
