Marehemo.—A very enjoyable , picnic was held at Te Opu, Messrs Trewirt Bros', farm. Members enjoyed an interesting talk on Canton by Mrs. Williams. for the handcraft competition for entry at the local show made a.fine display. Ngatea.—There was a large attendance at the first meeting for this yeqlr. The forming of a literary circle was discussed and a debating team to meet thje Waitakaruru members 'at a later dat.» chosen. The subject for debate will be Ancient Ways versus Modern." Waerenga.—The monthly meeting was held in the Waerenga Hall recently, Mrs. Hunter presiding. Points were! awarded for the best pikelets, the honours going to Mrs. A. Carley, first, and Mes. Harris, second. Mrs. R. Pulham, of Te fKauwhata, was the judge. During the afternoon a pianoforte solo was rendered I by Mrs. Sewell. The hostesses were Mesdames C. Carter, F. Carter, A. Sherson and F. Sewell.
