SO Four people were drowned in South Australia's worst surfing tragedy at Port Noarlunga, about 20 miles from Adelaide, to-day. Seven others Tfad remarkable escapes. Those drowned are:— C. Bowen, aged 25. Bay Kennedy, aged 23. Mavis Dodd, aged 14. Daphne Dodd, aged 10. A party was surfing near the entrance to the Oakaparinga River, when huge waves and a strong undertow carried the bathers out. Life-savers and onlookers effected gallant rescues. The father of the Dodd sisters rescued a third daughter and a son.
