DISPLAY OF HORSEMANSHIP PRIZES FOR BEST BABIES I• ' ! The Helensville Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 34th annual show, held on the Showgrounds • yesterday, again proved its popularity with the general' public from a wide area. As usual, the quality of stock entered spoke weii for the possibilities of the district, while the association had spared no effort to provide interest apart from the exhibits. As a result, not only.were entries good, but the attendance figures were well up to the average. As school-work classes had been omitted (his year, the total entries were slightly less than last year's-figures, but the stock classes-in many cases' showed considerable increases. There were 186 entries in the cattle section, comprising 88 Jerseys, 64 Shorthorns and 34 l.u iesians. Sheep classes accounted for over 100 entries, and the horse sections attracted 120 entries, There were 91 hall exhibits, which included cooking, home industries, needlework, fruit unci vegetables. An innovation this year was the provision of a loud-speaker, which acquainted j those present with.the -judging,- and pro- j vided musical, selections.
