CHRIST'S COLLEGE

OLD BOYS' GATHERING JUBILEE DINNER IN LONDON [from oor own correspondent] LONDON, Dec. 22 Sir Thomas Wilford, an "Old Boy" of the school, presided at the 50th annual dinner of the English branch of Christ's College Old Boys' Association. The attendance was not so large as usual, but the evening passed off very pleasantly. It wound up with a "Korero," interspersed with songs. The chairman, in proposing the toast of "Christ's College," referred to the kudos which the Dominion had attained in Westminster and in the city by her very fine gesturo in regard to her offer to repay to the Mother Country interest on the war loan—as a sequel to America's decision in regard to Great Britain's payment of £15,000,000 to the United States. Some of those present who had been away from London were unacquainted with the offer made by New Zealand, and they received tho news with great satisfaction. Mr. T. A. Gresson brought the latest news from the school, including cricket scores and sports achievements—and reported "All well."' Mr. Hal Williams, honorary secretary, read a loiter from Mr. C. D. BoWen, who recalled that at tho first dinner, held in 1882. the chairman was the late Rev. C. C. Pritchard, No. 1 on the school list. Among others who were present on that occasion and who were still living lie named I lie Bishop of Waiapu, Messrs. C. H. Tripp, L. O. H. Tripp, J. D. Acland and himself (Mr. Bowen).
