HOLIDAY IN AUCKLAND SALES IN THE SOUTH The Auckland Stock Exchange was closed yesterday for the Anniversary Day holiday. Business will be resumed to-day. Following is a list of yesterday's transactions on Southern Stock Exchanges. In tho second column is given tho return, based on the last annual dividend, from investment at tho quoted price. In the case of Government' and other redeemable securities no return is given, in view of tho new method of quotation, but the months in which interest is duo are shown. In calculating the return on shares in companies which pay their dividends outsido New Zealand exchange rates, being liable to fluctuation, have not been taken into consideration. MOTUROA OILFIELDS LAST WEEK'S OPERATIONS Moturoa Oilfields, Limited (New Plymouth), reports as follows for the week ended January 27Moturoa No. 3 well has been drilled to 2052 ft.., and the Bin. casing has been cemented on sandstone formation with six tons of cement. The well will now stand, for 10 days to alloW cement to settle. No. 2 well: Cleaning operations have been completed, and the production for the week totals 160 barrels (5600 Imperial gallons) of clean oil.
