AUCKLANDERS' SUCCESS
CAPTURES OFF MAYOR ISLAND

Fishing from the launch Naomi at Mayor Island, Dr. Donald McKenzie, of Auckland, hooked a swordfish which gave a magnificent display of leaping. After fighting the fish for an hour it escap.ed. His companion, Mr. W. Pobson, of Auckland, landed a mako shark weighing 4401b., which fought for an hour and three-quarters. Dr. McKenzie later captured a mako shark of 2601b., which fought for an hour and raced a good deal on the surface. Another mako which he hooked escaped. School fish were plentiful. The party secured sonic splendid pictures with n cinema camera.
