AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS OF SATURDAY'S PLAY (Received February 29. 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Jan. 29 The Australian tennis championships were continued yesterday. In the semifinal of the men's singles Gledhill (United States) beat McGrath (Australia), 6—'A, 6—l, 6 —l. In the semi-final of the doubles Crawford and Moon (Australia) beat Allison and Van Ryn (United States), 10—8, 6 —3, 6—4; Gledhill and Vines (United States) beat Cummins and Bassctt (Australia), 6—2, 6—3, 7—5. Women's Singles.—ln the semi-final Miss Hartigan beat Miss Hoddie Wrigley, 4—6, 6 —o, 6 —4. Women's doubles : In the semifinals Mesdames Molesworth and Westacott beat Misses Woodward and Derham, 6—o, 6—2; Mrs. Van Ryn and Miss Hartigan beat Mesdames Buttsworth and Crawford, 6—5, 6—4, 6—2. Mixed Doubles.—ln the semi-final Crawford and Mrs. Crawford beat Frankcnbcrg and Mrs. Bond, 6—3, 6—3. THE INDOOR GAME CANADIAN TITLE MATCHES (Received February 29, 5.5 p.m.) MONTREAL, Jan. 28 In the final of the Canadian indoor tennis championship F. X. Shields defeated J. Gilbert Hall, 6—2, 6—4, 6—2. In the final of tlie doubles Hall and Miss Marcel Rainville (Montreal) defeated Shields and Edward Burns (New York), 6—2, I—6, 6—3, 4—6, 6—4.
