TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME

LIST OF THE ACCEPTANCES

WYNYARD PLATE CONTEST REVIEW OF THE PROSPECTS The Takapuna Jockey Club's Slimmer Meeting will bo concluded to-day, when the chief races will be the Wynyard Plate and tile Takapuna Jockey Club Handicap. Ihe fields are of fair average size nnd (he presence of some horses who did not compete on the first day should add interest to what promises to be an enjoyable day's sport. Following are details of the fields, with a review of the prospects in each race by "Archer":— 11.30—MOANA HANDICAP, Of £100; G fur. st. lb. st. Hi. Sunnv Bachelor !) 0 Trickle .... 7 7 Polling .... 8 12 Tironui .... 7 7 Princess Star 812 The Highland Arav.'a Rose . 8 (i Chief 7 7 Roman Mascot 7 12 Guy Broney . 7 7 Foul wind ... 711 Substation ..77 Toplight ... 7 10 Wee .Musk Diversion ... 7 10 Regarde-/, . . . 7 7 Monuniti ... 7 JO Tahae Mea ..77 Sweet Whisper 7 7 Danna .... < ' Courtliaven ..77 Directory ... 7 7 Bright Flower 7 7

Sunny Bachelor, Pelting and Princess Star should'all run good races. Princess Star did not compete on Saturday, but she performed solidly at New Plymouth, and it is in her favour that she is a good beginner. Araw'i Rose is an improver with a chance and Roman Mascot should do better than oil tho first day, when nho had none the best of the luck. Diversion should be improved for her run on Saturday and the same applies to Tironui, who did well with a lot of overweight in his first start. The likeliest of the others may be Toplight. Gay Broney, Courtliaven and Foulwind. The favourites may be PRINCESS STAR ROMAN MASCOT GAY BRONEY.

12.10-SUBURBAN HANDICAP, Of £150: 5 fur. st. lb. st. lb. Paganelli . . 10 2 Lucidus ... 7 0 Exaggeration . 8 7 Tetrarchnto ..70 Whakapara. ..80 Princess Star . 7 0 Marechal ... 75 Tfoihoma. ... 7 0 Hampton Park 7 5 Miss Lorraine 7 0 Paganelli should be very dangerous in spite of his big weight, because he is very well and better class than most of the others. Ilowevoiv he has two other engagements and it is not known in which race lie will run. Exaggeration is suro to be difficult to beat if she reproduces her Ellerslie form, and Whakapara, usually a good beginner, is not without prospects. Lucidus, Tetrarchate, Hampton Park and Uoihoma are all good beginners who should run solid races. The draw for post positions may havo an influence on the betting, but horses who may find favour are EXAGGERATION WHAKAPARA H OIHOM A.

I,O—WAIV-'HRA HIGH-WEIGHT "I AN DI CAP, .Of £l2O, I mile 3 fur.. 40yds. st. lb. st. Ih. Thespis .... 11- 2 Neil 90 Moterc .... 10 10 St. Ames ..00 Ornamental . . 910 Master Holey . 9 <> Glenluiupo . . 9 4 Free Air ... 90 Ruling King . !> 1 Demylus ... 'J 0

Thespis is a good liovpo hi thia cliioh find jnuy not find I;is weight prohibitive. Urgent Ornamental over seven furlongs at Kuwait awn. when giving lier more weight than he is here and, although Iho former is rapidly on tlie improve, ho may beat her again, as he is better seasoned lo run a long distance. Glenhanpo should again make a. creditable showing, but Hulins Kins? lias yet. to prove himself at the distance. The longer journey should enable Mot ere to improve upon his first day's running and tlm best of Iho others may be Neil. The main fancies may includo TFT ESP IS • ORNAMENTAL GLENIIAUPO. I.46—WYNYARD PLATE, Of £275 and Sweepstake of i':j each: 7 fur. Kt. lb. si. lb. Psychologist . 8 0 Prolyxo .... 8 (I Delrain .... 8 9 Gay Marigold 8 0 Merry Laji ..80 Muugatoon ..80 Lucidus .... 8 9 Broken Rulo . 8 0 Moonfleet ... 8 9 Rega'dez ... 7 If? King's l\navo 8 9 Landlubber . . 71! Brierlv 8 0 Arawa Rose . . 7 1.1 Miss Lorraine 8 0 Gay Broney . 7 7 ]t is probable that there will lie a few defections, as Gay Marigold is unlikely lo run. .and the fact that Master Briefly has been accepted for in another race indicates that he may also go out. On form King's Knave reads best of the older horses and what beats him should win. ITe has been galloping well■ and in the absence of GayMarigold will have the services of K. Voitre. Moonfleet is nnother with a chance, but better prospects may bo the three-year-olds Broken Rule, Mitngatoon and Master Brierly. It is an open race, but in tho absenco of Gay Marigold and Master Brierly investors may favour KING'S KNAVE MUNOATOON BROKEN RULE.

2.3O—HOBSON HANDICAP. Of XI30; two-year-olds; 0 fur. st. lb. st. lb. Rereatu . •. . Sir Solomon ... 7 5 Gay Sheila . . 8 10 Lagoon .... 7 0 Deputy Ruler 8 6 Musquil ... 7 0 King Ivlestor . 8 3

Deputy Ruler won with ease on Saturday and. although he has a rise of 12lb, his prospects appear bright. Gay Sheila should again run well and slight improvement might also be forthcoming from Rereatu and King Mestor. Tho public will probably follow form and support DEPUTY RULER GAY SHEILA REREATU.

3.16—T.J.C. HANDICAP, Of £270; 9 fur.

st. lb. st. lb. Paganelli ...90 Trishnn . . . 7 J2 Merry Damon 9 4 Teels 7 8 Sunny' Sky . 9 0 Jalldy Knro . 7 7 Royal Doulton 8 1 Master Bnerly 7 5 Gay Idea, ... 8 0 Eager Rose ..74 The topweights Paganelli, Merry Damon and Sunny Sky should all run solid races. Tho two last-named are in the same ownership and make a strong bracket. AH (ho distance the preference may be for Sunny Sky, who is also in the lust race. Royal Doulton has no recent form, but her prospects would be very rosy if at her best. Trishna is unlikely to run, but Gay Idea should again make a solid showing. Master Brierly is an improver who reads particularly well placed and in the hands of a good light-weight he should' take considerable beating. .Talldy Karo, Teels and Eager Rose are all possibilities and it is an open race. The favourites may bo MASTER BRIERLY SUNNY SKY PAGANELLI.

4.0 —RANG ITOTO HANDICAP, Of £120; 0 fur. si. lb. Bt. lb. Bugle Call ..87 Pelting .... 7 12 Glennilii . . . 8 0 United .... 7 10 Valpai .... 8 2 Currajong ... 7 0 Hawthorn ... 7 12 Merry Lap ..79 Grand Spirit . 7 12 Transaction ..75 Bugle Call displayed Rood form at the holiday meetings in Tarnnnki and should bo capable of running prominently, more especially as the field is not 100 large. Valpai. can be relied' upon for a good effort, while first day's form points to good chances for Pelting, Currajong and Merry Lap. Transaction ran solid races in better fields at Ellerslie and others who should be capable of creditable performances are Hawthorn. Grand Spirit and United. The popular fancies may include BUGLE CALL VALPAI MERRY LAP.

4.45—-AN NIV ERSARY HANDICAP, Of £150; 7 fur. st. lb. st. Ib. Paganelli . . 10 7 Mareehal ... 711 Sunny Sky . . 9 10 Brampton ..77 Chief Joy ... 8 9 Limex .... 77 Teels .... 8 4 Pelting .... 7 7 Chief Cook ..84 If Paganelli and Sunny Sky are reserved for this race they should take a lot of beating, although with tho going so firm they may start in other races in which they havo less weight. Chief Joy should have a good chance in the class and another goo.d prospect is Chief Cook. Teels should be dangerous if started, while Limex and Pelting oro another likely pair. Mare<Vn 1. who is coming back to form, is unlikely to run and if the topweights are absent investors may favour CHIEF COOK CHIEF .101' LIMEX TROTTING FIXTURES February 4, G—Nelson Trotting Club.
