WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

Wa.ipu.— Mrs, McLennan presided at tho monthly meeting of tho Waipu Women's Institute and welcomed visitors from four other institutes. Mrs. J. C. McKay contributed a musical item; and Iho roll-call "How you spent your holidays" was much appreciated. The advertisement competition was won by Miss McKarlario, and tho competition for the best sponge cake, by Mrs, J. McLennan. Tho host it 'sses for the afternoon were Mosdarnes J. I\ McKay, A. W. McKay, K. McLean and Batter and Miss lv. McKay.

Coroglen.—The vice-president, Miss TTodgo, in the absence of the president., Mis. J. I'. Minifie, presided at tho first meeting for this year of tho institute. A short story was read and after various matters were dealt with tea was served. The hostesses were, Mrs. A. 1 lodge, Mrs. 10. Noble and Mrs. M. Minifie.
