A SUMMER DRINK

A delicious drink for the summer is home-made sherbert. To make it take 1 quart of boiling water, 14oz. of loaf sugar, 1 lemon, 1 white of egg, flavouring to taste. Pour the boiling water over the sugar, the juice of one lemon, and the grated rind of half a lemon. When the sugar i 3 dissolved, strain into a freezer, and for each quart add the slightly beaten white of one egg. When frozen add any flavour desired; care must bo taken that it. does not freeze too firmly.
