HIGHER PRICE FOR EGGS NEW SEASON'S FRUIT CHEAPER An increase of 2d a dozen to Is 2d in the price of eggs and decreases in rates for most lines of new season's fruit are the principal alterations in retail values of foodstuffs in the past week. Tomatoes are Id per lb. cheaper at Id to 4d a lb. Bananas are again selling at high prices, from 4d to 6d per lb. Mushrooms are available at Is 6d to 2s per lb. ELDER, SMITH AND COMPANY a INTERIM DIVIDEND UNCHANGED Elder, Smith and Company, Limited, general merchants, woolbrokers and live slock salesmen, Adelaide has cabled the Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand that an interim dividend at the rate of 4 per cent per annum, for the half-year ended' December 31, has been declared, payable, on March 1. This is at the same rate as last year, when the dividend for the year was 4 per cent. The company also paid A per. cent in 1931.
