CENTRAL BANK BILL
MORRINSVILLE OPPOSITION DOMINION'S MONETARY SYSTEM [FROM OUR OWN correspondent] MORRINSVILLE, Thursday National affairs, particularly the Central Reserve Bank Bill, were discussed at the largest public meeting held afr Morrinsvillc for ten years last evening. The Strand Theatre was filled with residents from all parts of Morrinsville and the adjoining districts. The Mayor of Morrinsville, Mr. W. T. Osborne, presided. After an address by Mr. H. M. Rushworth, M.P., who spoke on the lines of his recent address at Hamilton, the following resolution was moved by Mr. W. McPherson, president of the Morrinsville Returned Soldiers' Association, and seconded by Mr. W. Darrall, chairman of the Tatua Dairy Company: "That this meeting of residents of Morrinsville and surrounding districts supports a full and open immediate inquiry into the existing monetary system of the Dominion, and an investigation of any proposal to establish and maintain a system in a direct ratio to the exportable produce of the Dominion." A further resolution passed was as follows: "That ' this meeting protests strongly against the passage this session of the Reserve Bank Bill and calls for a postponement so as to permit the fullest consideration of the possible effect of the measure on the Dominion monetary system."
Both resolutions were earried unanimously and copies will be sent to the Prime Minister and to the member for the district, Mr. F. Lye, M.P.
